CONTROL Resonant Enemies & Bosses — Know What You're Facing
Tell the Hiss and Mold apart from Resonants, then match every verified major encounter to its region, prerequisite, arena problem and reward branch.

Which threats are actually distinct?
The Hiss and Mold return, while Resonants form the major boss class. The released game places regional Resonants behind distinct routes and rewards them with Combat Ability branches, so the correct first question is whether the obstacle is a route gate or the fight itself.
Looking for a specific Boss encounter?
We separate factions from individual threats here. Open the released-game Boss directory for verified prerequisites, arena problems, rewards and patch notes.
Faction, summon or individual encounter?
A hostile faction, a summoned ally and a named boss are not the same thing. Check the role before planning a fight.
| Name | Class | Shown behavior or role | Do not infer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hiss | Returning hostile force | Corrupted Bureau personnel appear in the opening | Every Manhattan enemy is Hiss |
| Mold | Returning paranatural threat | Mold-linked combat and summons are discussed | Every Mold appearance is the same enemy |
| Resonants | Major boss class | Defeat can grant supernatural abilities | A full boss count or order |
| The Artist | First documented Resonant encounter | Porcelain-like face that weaponizes taxis and girders | Exact health or damage values without versioned testing |
| Central Resonant | Named encounter | Fire and magma hazards | Final damage values or drop table |
Which route reaches each verified major encounter?
Region, quest and route are kept together so a missing movement unlock is not mistaken for a combat problem.

Hiss, Mold and Resonant threat files
These have enough distinct facts and player context for a dedicated file.
The Deserter closes Central's Patterned Factory route with a fire-filled arena and an Ignite or Inferno reward choice. Patch coverage now extends through version 1.4.2.
The ArtistResonant boss encounterThe Artist is the first Resonant encounter and an early test of Dylan's melee-to-Power build. Its two Reset Items remain available, while versions 1.4.0 and 1.4.2 fix encounter performance and the post-fight Gap exit.
The HissReturning hostile resonanceThe Hiss drove the crisis inside the Oldest House in CONTROL and is named among the threats in Resonant's Manhattan. Its old enemy list is not a new-game bestiary.
Enemy factions and named encounters
Factions, summons and individual bosses remain separate. Exact numerical claims only belong here when they can be tied to a stated game version.
