Six released Forms at a glance
These released roles show what each early Form is meant to solve. They are a tactical comparison, not a universal damage ranking.
| Form | Pool | Weapon style | Player-facing role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strike | Primary | Twin daggers | Fast, close-range attacks; boosted critical chance |
| Glaive | Primary | Glaive | Wide sweeps against groups |
| Cleave | Primary | Axe | Focused pressure; extra damage from behind |
| Crush | Secondary | Mallet | Large, slow smashing attacks |
| Drill | Secondary | Drill | Multi-hit piercing pressure |
| Extend | Secondary | Flail | Longer reach for a melee setup |

How do the Form pools work?
The released game offers an early Primary choice among Strike, Glaive and Cleave, followed by Secondary Forms including Crush, Drill and Extend. A separate Combo Ender pool supplies finishers, letting Dylan combine different attack roles within one Aberrant loadout.
The six named Forms establish the opening combat vocabulary, but they do not by themselves establish every later unlock, upgrade cost or optimal pairing.

How should you choose an opening pair?
A close-range Primary Form and a reach-oriented Secondary Form cover different problems; a wide Primary Form and a heavy Secondary Form lean toward crowd pressure and impact. Compare those roles against the current encounter instead of treating one pair as a universal best-in-slot ranking.
Watch what a fight asks of you—single target, group control, reach or sustained pressure—before treating one weapon animation as universally strongest. Talents, abilities and Artifacts can alter that judgment in the current build.

Match the Form to the opening
If distance is the problem, compare Extend's extra reach with a Combat Ability such as Barrage before changing the whole build. If a crowd keeps interrupting a narrow attack, Glaive's wide sweep is the more relevant Form to inspect. These are differences in the released roles, not a promise that either option wins every fight.
A Form also changes how you return to melee after spending a power. The Aberrant file explains that shared resource loop; the Gap file explains where the parts of a loadout are reviewed. Keep weapon role, ability choice and build management separate when comparing them.

Aberrant Forms Compared: what players need to know
Compare Forms by role first. Exact damage changes with Talents, Artifacts, difficulty and game version, so a role comparison is more dependable than a universal damage ranking.
